5 month baby bump

We had another ultrasound this past week- and things are going well. Baby is healthy, and we were able to tell with absolute certainty that it is a little boy growing inside of me. It was actually quite funny the way he was sitting inside of me. The doc said in all his 17 years of being a doctor he has never seen a baby sitting like this-- he is breech inside me right now, and he was sitting completey indian style with his hands on his knees. (actually most of the time he had his feet together rather than crossed- like the butterfly stretch- like he was meditating or something) It was pretty funny. I am going in for another ultrasound next month though to do a growth check. The doctor said he is still within a normal range but pretty small compared to Carson, so he wants to make absolute sure that he is growing the way he should. There's a chance my due date might just be a little off by just a few days and that's why he's small. But either way- here I am at five months! More than half way done! Yahoo!!!

Oh my silly silly boy

I don't know if I just don't get out much-- or if I spend so much time around 2 year olds that my sense of humor has totally changed--but I swear this kid is so dang funny!! He has me rollin' all the time. So this post is all about Carson- and the funny things he's done lately (I need to record these things much more often! I forget so easy!)
So this is my parent's dog Lola. Carson loves teasin her! Here he is tryin to take her toy. He loves to go over to their house to play with her... He will literally run circles through their house yelling "Chase me Lola!" and she does. This boy needs a dog.So the other day I was in the family room and Carson was calling me from his room saying, "Mommy, swimming, mommy swimming!" He emptied out his puzzle box and was pretending to swim!
He's always loved looking at pictures of himself, so as soon as I take a picture of him, he wants to see the back of my camera. The other day I showed him his picture, and he goes, "CUTE!"

Don't know what him and his daddy were doin with these boxes, but I just found these pictures on my camera.
Please ignore my face in these next pictures! (Pregnancy does terrible things to my skin). But anyways I love doing silly pictures with Carson. I tell him to make a silly face...and I just never know what I'm gonna get out of him!
These past few days have been insane trying to get him to bed...He's up til like midnight! So a couple nights ago I was layin in his bed with him trying to get him to fall asleep. He was cuddled in super close to me with his arms around my neck (he is such a cuddle bug!) and I thought he was finally fallin asleep, because his breathing was getting deep and slow. When...out of nowhere...he very slowly stuck his tongue out...waited...then started licking my entire face!! And he was laughing his head off. Of course I started laughing my head off too... didn't help with the falling asleep situation...But its hard to get too mad when I'm about to pee my pants with laughter.
As you can tell from the last story, our night times are always pretty interesting! Another night this week we were settlin' in for night time prayers next to Carson's bed. Carson said he wanted to say the prayer (which usually means, he tries to repeat what we say) but he insisted "Carson, self!" So he started..."Heavenly Father..." Then he just talked for a couple min. (Most of his words were NOT english!) Then when he thought he was done praying, he just climbed up in bed and laid down. Craig and I just looked at each other and were like...ok..."amen."
I've been trying to limit Carson's TV watching (especially now that I am done doing homework and stuff) So when he asks to watch a movie I often say..."no, you've already watched that," or "You've watched too much TV." Well....he thinks he outsmarted me. When he asks for a movie now he says, "Watch Wall E two times?" or "Watch Bug's Life two times today?"
One last fun story: Carson got to feel the baby for the first time last week! (He hasn't been patient enough before- to just sit there with his hand on my tummy...not really his idea of fun). But this time he felt the little baby, and he would get so excited!! He'd say "Baby move!" every time. Well he heard me say the baby is "kicking," and Carson knows we are not supposed to kick people (or dogs...poor Lola) so he tells the baby, "No no. Don't kick. Be nice to Carson."
Ok- that reminds me of one last thing: Sometimes he puts his toys on timeout. I'll watch him take a toy, use it to beat up another toy, then he takes the mean toy, sets it on the couch, gives a little lecture, and says "timeout!" The other day he sat a hot wheels car on the couch next to me and told me I couldn't play with it cuz it was on timeout. Trying not to laugh, I asked what the car did. And Carson responded completely serious, "hit fire truck." Oh boy. I'm pretty sure girls don't play this way.
I'm so lucky to be his mom! He keeps life so fun and entertaining! He always helps me to remember what the importnat things in life are. I love him more than words can say!

Our Christmas

So my computer is being super annoying right now, and it keeps deleting pictures that I put on here. (or maybe its the fact that I am trying to operate a computer at one in the morning, who knows) but here's a little start to some holiday pictures at least.
Christmas was absolutely AWESOME this year! I couldn't help feeling so grateful for all of our family! We felt so spoiled! And it was so cool to finally have our own Christmas morning with our own little family! Up until now, we've stayed the night at one of our parents' since we've lived further away--which is nice too-- but so exciting to start our own traditions and have our own family time! Car-car loved Christmas morning and finally being able to open his presents! We'd been telling him not to touch the presents under the tree for so long, he was a little unsure when we finally told him to dig in...like we were playing a trick on him! Can I just say that 2 year olds are the BEST to shop for! He's totally happy with anything! The first present he opened was all his play food and dishes, and he would have been totally content with just that. In between his presents he would go back to his food and have a little "snack."
Craig's big present to me was a HAND PAINTED picture of our family! He met this incredible artist in China, and this was such a surprise! I can't believe how talented she is! We are having it framed right now- I can't wait to put it up in our house!
Our family on Christmas morning. We all totally have sleepy-face still. The cousins at the Morris house with "Mimi". (2 matching cheese ball grins) Then onto the Romney house for more presents and a Christmas feast!
The next day we finally made it down to the lights in Salt Lake City. So cold- but always worth it.

Hopefully I can get some more pictures on here later....but we'll see. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!

boy or girl??

Hope everyone had a good Christmas! ...I'll get around to posting pictures and Christmas stuff later. For now I'll keep this short and sweet.

I had a doctor appt a week or so ago- and the doc randomly decided to do an ultrasound (we have the head to toe one scheduled for next month), and I knew he might be able to tell the sex of the baby, so I kinda started freaking out! And Craig wasn't with me so I told the doctor to tell me to look away when he was getting close the "the area" because I didn't want to find out w/out Craig. Ultrasounds are always so exciting! i got to see the baby's fingers and toes- I love it- it makes it all seem much more "real." So anyways the doc printed out a picture and wrote the sex on the back. He didn't seal it in an envelope or anything! I had to completely empty out a purse pocket with a zipper and zip it in there all by its self so I wouldn't be tempted to look at it! Then as soon as I got home I had to seal it in my own envelope. So hard!

Craig and I talked about waiting until Christmas to look- but we were barely able to last until that evening. It was so different this time. With Carson we both just KNEW it was going to be a boy, it didn't feel like a surprise at all. But this time we both kept going back and forth. ....Right before we looked, Craig bet me $100 that it was going to be a boy...I took that bet.

Here we are about to open it up!Uh...not exactly sure why Craig is makin that face! And......
.......apparently.....
I'll have to wait a while longer to buy bows, flowers, and anything pink.
Until then I will be severely outnumbered and surrounded by balls, trucks, dirt, dinosaurs, stinky feet, and the color blue!

We are both super excited to have another little boy! I'm so glad that Carson will have a little buddy- and I'm sure they will be handful together, but it will be a blast! I can't wait!

And needless to say: Craig got a jacket and a basketball book for Christmas that he would normally not have gotten :)

By the way: His due date is May 20!!

MY BABY IS 2!

I can't believe my little Car Car is 2 years old! He had his 2 year doctor visit this week and he still is in like the 99th percentile for height and weight! He is a big boy for sure! Some fast facts on Carson: Favorite color- yellow. Favorite food- probably fruit and "cheese-adas" (cheese quesadillas), and spaghetti, but he's not very picky. He loves- school buses, dinosaurs, all Disney characters, and cars.
You may remember how last year he was terrified when we sang Happy Birthday to him... but he couldn't get enough of it this year. (These next few pics are from the Romney family party) My sis-in-law, Hannah, made him this cute Mickey cake, which he loved.
He loves this little remote control plane. He drives it all over the hosue now. He's so spoiled with presents- he always asks for "More presents?" when he's done. But at least he's very gracious...when he opens one he says, "whoah!" every time.
All the cute kiddos wanted to help.
Carson and sweet little "Baby Izzy." Carson loves babies!
Now these next couple are from the Morris family party. I made him a dinosaur cake... that turned out to be a giant disaster. It already looked pretty bad, but then on the way over to their house, the whole thing totally tipped over in the car! I was trying to salvage it, while driving, frosting all over the place...you can imagine the scene I'm sure. I learned my lesson though: stick to Costco cakes! (At least Car liked it)

Then on Carson's actual birthday (Dec. 18th), we headed down to St. George for a few days for a little vacation. We had a blast, the weather was lovely, but we were sure happy to come home to snow for Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone!

By the way-- my next post I will announce if we are having a boy or girl (we found out last week!!) So excited!

Date Nights

Craig and I don't get out a ton with just the two of us...so its always fun when we do. Last Friday we stayed up in Midway and went to Craig's work party (which was fun besides the fact that it was a dinner party scheduled for 6:00 and they didn't actually feed us until after 8!! I was dying!! And I didn't even have any snacks packed in my bag like normal!) Please ignore the fact that our "Christmas colors" totally clash.
And the other day we went to the Jazz/Spurs game(great game) and sat on like the 19th row! And we got a yummy sponsor buffet dinner before! It was sweet! Best part was- it was all free! Yes, we have matching D Will jerseys (Craig got them in China or Vietnam or something). We rock.

Graduation!

On Dec. 12th I officially walked at Utah State University with my Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Health Sciences.... what a mouthful huh? When I started school I never would have thought that this is how it would go. My plan was to finish the nursing program at BYU and apply to become a nurse anesthetist. Well....3 schools, about 6 moves, 1 husband, and 1 1/2 kids later....I'm finally graduating! I guess Heavenly Father had some different plans for me...and I'm not complaining!!!! Life is great. But I can't even explain how amazing it feels to finally be done! It is such a relief! I still feel a bit naked going places without my back pack- I took it with me everywhere incase I had a free minute or two. But I'm getting use to it-- and loving it! No more homework--until I get to help Carson with his! Wow!! Although I still would like to go back to finish nursing that will not be until all my kids are in school--I'm so grateful to not have to think about that now! Here's the whole gang that made the journey up to Logan for me :) ...by the way, I love Logan.
This is one of Craig's best friends, Bradley, and me.
This is Craig's mission president- a trustee at the school. We love him and his family! They took care of us a lot while we were up there.
YIPEE!!!!!!!!!!
